Family member’s, Activist, and community members rallied outside of RaboBank Arena in Bakersfield, CA. Their beef was with the police. Their grievance was the unjust murders of David Silva, and James Moore.
David Silva was beaten to death by 7 Bakersfield Police Officers, and 2 Kern County Sheriffs and just to top things off a canine unit was released from a nearby police cruiser. The beating lasted over 19 minutes, and resulted in the “accidental” death of David Silva
James Moore was killed while he was in custody. He had been beaten 3 times throughout the day, and this was his 4th. During the first, a deputy Daniel Lindini knocked out his tooth. During beating 1-3 they used pepper spray, and batons. He was bound hand and foot and awaiting transfer to Mercy Hospital for treatment of the injuries sustained during the 3 preliminary beatings.

James used his foot to resist being put into a police car, his legs were swept out from under him, and he hit the ground with a loud thud. Lisa Romero proceeded to repeatedly kick him in the face, and another officer mounted him and began to punch him in the kidneys. 15 officers proceeded to beat James for what felt like 10 minutes. I heard him scream “They are killing me” said Officer Brian Carr.
Officer Carr who saw James moments before his beating, and again after his beating described his face as
“taking a girls doll and smashing in the plastic face, and the plastic just folds inward” – Brian Carr
